DRAWING OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2024

Archisource presents the fifth annual free to enter international Awards in partnership with Affinity

The Drawing of the Year Awards are the ultimate international accolade in visual representations across architecture, design and the arts. 2024 marks the fifth year of the aspirational Awards recognising excellence in creative imagery of the built environment. The Awards span all mediums and styles, awarding the most accomplished visual creations and creative talents.

Each year the Awards recognise a great array of inspirational drawings from impactful hand sketches, highly intricate works, to the highest detailed visualisations representing undiscovered worlds.

2024 saw our largest prize offering with £100,000 GBP ($125,000 USD) worth of prizes to be won, including free creative software licences for the top 250 Shortlisted works - as well as the opportunity to be published internationally in the Ideas Pocketbook 2024 and be showcased in a Central London exhibition.

The expert judging panel for the fifth Awards includes creative practitioners and industry experts each with unique knowledge and experience of architecture, design and image creation. The judges continue to be inspired by the level of quality, talent and creativity submitted year on year.

To celebrate five years of the Awards, we launched our first major exhibition in Central London. The exhibition saw an immense array of creative works on display showcasing the winners and finalists from the Drawing of the Year Awards 2024 at the iconic Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf. Visitors were immersed in a world of creativity and the very best visual representations and creative works.

 
 

We were proud to be part of the London Festival of Architecture 2024, a month long celebration of architecture and city-making, taking place every June across London.

The Festival’s mission is to open up discussions around architecture, test new ideas and uncover and promote new talent.

Award categories

To mark the fifth year of the Drawing of the Year Awards, a new way of recognising excellence was introduced through six new Award Categories structured by creative process - ‘the big six’.

Each year the Archisource Awards Committee invite and elect an independent judging panel of experts within architecture and design. The works are judged on: originality of approach, style and/or content; use of media and the graphic and aesthetic quality; ability to represent and communicate intent or narrative; extent of impact and proposition.

  • The Drawing of the Year Award is supported by Affinity

    Recognised works pushing the boundaries of creativity, orginality and innovative representation. Undefined by process, this Award category recognises the most accomplished imagery across all mediums, processes and styles awarding those that have excelled in experimentation, inginuity and confidence.

  • The Digital Drafting Award 2024 is supported by Bentley’s MicroStation.

    Recognising works produced through two dimensional CAD drafting or three dimensional modelling processes, or other digital drafting software; in any typology, view and in any style.

  • The Digital Media Award 2024 is supported by INFiLED.

    Recognising works created utilising digital media and digital illustrative techniques where digital media production has been fundamental to the creative process. Works can be any typology, view and style, including illustrative, digital collage, to digital mixed processes.

  • The Hand Drawn Award 2024 is supported by LEUCHTTURM1917

    Recognising works created through physical or digital methods where hand techniques have been fundamental to the creative process; in any typology, view and in any hand drawn style.

  • Recognising works produced through the bridging of two or more media methods, which can also include physical and digital media methods; in any typology, view and in any style.

  • The Visualisation Award 2024 is supported by Chaos

    Recognised works produced through visualisation, rendering and digital atmospheric processes with a particular focus on composition, lighting, atmosphere, materiality and narrative.

Inclusivity is at the heart of the Awards, built with a mission to support and unite the creative community at all skill levels. The Awards have become the biggest and most inclusive Awards series of its kind celebrating talent without boundaries. This is a truly accessible-for-all Awards series where creatives of all levels and all backgrounds can be rightly recognised for their skills at the highest level.

£100,000 IN PRIZES

2024 saw the BIGGEST unparalleled collection of prizes yet. Winners across six categories will win an array of creative tools, studio essentials and all the software you need for the ultimate studio set up + more worth up to £12,500 each.

PLUS hundreds of creatives will receive Affinity V2 Universal Licences, international publication and the opportunity to be exhibited in London amongst the best visual creators around the globe!
